Zoo Day with Poppy

Today is gorgeous!!! It is Sunny and 60 in February! It was a touch decision but I decided to skip Zumba =) and take the boys to the zoo. Poppy was so thrilled that I called to see if he wanted to join us (that is sarcasm - he always says yes and has a good time but never really wants to go!). Will kept yelling, "YAAAY!!!!" and clapping every time I said Poppy was coming. Gaines literally talked the entire way to the zoo. I was thrilled to have extra hands because Gaines and I had some traumatic pooping incidents at the zoo which makes it exhausting or maybe that was because I ran across the zoo (yes, i said ran) to get Gaines to the potty in which he still refused to go and chose to go in his pants after the 3rd attempt in 1.5 hours. I hope I survive to see the day when I can truly say he is potty trained and truly not worry about him having an accident.

Daytona 500

Garrick and his brother Lee have been going on a "brothers trip" to the Daytona 500 the past 3 years and they really love it and get into all the NASCAR hoopla. 


I have to admit, I do have my favorite racer, Carl Edwards, which I did determine because he was cute and I like he did a flip when he won!

Race Weekend in Daytona

They waited 12 hours for the race to start. It rained all day and officials finally postponed the race until the next day (which they had to fly home) and they missed the actual Daytona 500...

The boys had a weekend with Mommy but was so excited for Daddy to get home with their race weekend prizes.  Gaines kept hoping for more cars like last year (I was really hoping Garrick would remember a matchbox car!). We got smart this year and actually got them a gift before hand and saved at Essex - it was a hit! The boys are never this excited when Mommy returns from a trip!

Elizabeth's Birthday Brunch

On Sunday of our Atlanta weekend, we got to of over to Jess's to celebrate Elizabeth with brunch and opening presents. The kids got to play together for a little bit and it was hysterical. Will and Elizabeth have already started tormenting each other ending with both of them crying and Gaines with sealed lips on what actually happened in the playroom! While E and Will played and fought, Gaines sat in Baby Caroline's bumbo and watched a show. I know I have said it a million times but I am so lucky to have such great friends that we want our families to be a part of each others lives no matter how many miles are between us.

Kenz and I kept debating whether we were going to bathe our children (by the way I HATE giving baths), but we finally talked ourselves into it and we were so glad we did - the kids had a blast and plus we got some great pics!

Elzabeth's 3rd Birthday Party

We went to Atlanta to celebrate Elizabeth Kelly's 3rd Birthday. Her theme was Minnie Mouse and it was so cute! I am slightly jealous she gets to use pink polka dots - don't see that in my future!!! The boys had a blast - a little overwhelming for hung over parents!

 Saturday was so much fun! The Carvalhos live in a great neighborhood on a cul-de-sac that all the kids play on. My kids loved it! It was a beautiful day especially since it is mid-February. I am very jealous that we do not have this at home - so much fun!
