Ready for soccer

We are pumping the boys up for soccer season to start. This will be Will's first season to play and Gaines's second. They are both on Luke's team and Mr. Chris is the coach so we will see how this goes. Needless to say Will is so excited and spent as much time as Daddy would spend outside practicing. Gaines loves to just run!

Please check out Gaines's outfit.

First Week of School

Gaines and Will both were super excited this week to start school. Will stood and got his picture taken so proudly! Gaines has Ms. Heather and 12 kids in his class actually 10 boys and 2 girls. She has done an incredible job with her classroom which makes it hard to drag Will out to go to his classroom. Will keeps  saying when he is 4 he will be in Gaines and Chase's class. Ms. Cassie is Will's teacher and she seems fabulous as well. Will knows all 8 in his class and plays well with all them. Will goes Thursday and Thursday and Gaines goes Tuesday,Wednesday, and Thursday which is new for his Pre-K year.

Favorites from their first day:
Gaines said there was a Diego Animal Science Book that talked about different animals and that was favorite. Also this game he made up for his crew to play on the playground.

Will said he played power rangers on the playground and told me He was red, Gavin was black, Carter was blue, and Hallee and Lily were pink. I asked if they knew they were playing?!? He also said his favorite was trucks.

My favorite was Ms. Cassie posted pics on Facebook of their first day. Loved seeing what all they were up to!

We went to Chic-fil-a with Lily and Ms.Betsy after school for ice cream and to play. They are exhausted!

Wednesday Will and I took Gaines to school and I have to admit just adding this extra day is really making me sad. He is just getting so big and soon I will not have any of this time with him. I texted this to Garrick and he wrote back "I know I will be a mess when we take him to Kindergarden!"

Will and I picked up Gaines from school on Wednesday and Ms. Heather was talking to the parents. She was saying to be patient over the next couple of weeks because all of her 12 students were on different levels some had never been in school or Mother's Day Out before and others have been in for 3 years and it would just take a little time to figure out what each student needs. Then she said, "And Gaines asked to day Ms. Heather when are we going to learn something REAL?" in regards to working on straight lines. Ha! My question for Ms. Heather is did he do his straight lines?

Gaines told Ms. Heather he was a Police Officer and a law maker. Ms. Heather explained that Police officers don't make laws they enforce them and she said his eyes got so big taking in every word of it.

Gaines asked me after school when Spring Break was and I said not for a long time. He sighed and asked if he was going to be in school forever? I think it is interfering with his play time and he is just realizing this.

First Day
Will was posing like crazy and so excited. Gaines was being difficult.

6 weeks

And there you have it...
Today I am 6 weeks preggo per Baby Center and still 2 weeks away from my first OB appointment. Only 34 weeks to go - HA! I need longer already. I am going stir crazy. I know her tests will not say anything different than the 3 pregnancy tests I have taken but I want that ultrasound to ease my anxiety. It is also KILLING me to keep this secret. I have only told 3 people MacKenzie since she is on another continent (sorry LeeAnn - I wanted to surprise you!), Liz since she confessed her own pregnancy to me 3 days before I found out I was joining her on this boat (by the way we are due basically a week apart - how much fun is that?!?!), and Sheree because I see her everyday and I needed someone to complain to on an hourly basis plus I knew she would drill me for not drinking at girls nights! My strategy right now is to not think about Baby Odom growing inside me and not worry and just make it to my doctor's appointment. I have been scanning pinterest on fun announcement ideas, I really like the one that says "Oh S*$T! I'm Pregnant!" with the husband holding the "HELP!" sign. I feel like there is baby fever everywhere I look. Facebook is full of "I'm having a baby" posts and I keep wondering why am I so scared since "everyone is doing it." LITERALLY EVERYONE IS DOING IT! HA! The only thing that is making it easier to keep this secret is how excited and shocked my friends and fam are going to be when we let this drop. Call me crazy but I also think I am having a girl. I don't know why but that is what I think. Some nights as I lay in bed just not feeling normal I think maybe I am not pregnant and this is all in my head and then I laugh to myself since no matter what I still have not had my period since June 26th! The exhaustion has totally taken over and I cannot lift my head come 2pm and 8pm. I have almost cut out all caffeine. Every other day I will have a cup of coffee or a mocha frappaccino. We are trying to get very serious about our house situation since we are going to be busting at the seams in this one come April. I know there are about a million exclamation points in this post but I am still freaking out so let me have those please?!?!?

Rain, Rain, Rain

This week can be summed up with one word - RAIN! We still managed to have fun but it was despite of the weather. Monday, I had to run errands so I promised the boys if they were good we could skip naps and go to the pool since it was supposed to be the only pretty day all week. Now that school has started the pool is literally deserted all the time. It is so nice! On Tuesday, we went to Mimi's house after the Y where I could finish setting up her new computer. Her necessities include Hearts, Solitaire, and the Obituaries! We pull up and Papa Jim is mowing his 13 acres at the age of 78 - Lord, help me if I am still doing that - let's be honest I don't do that now! The boys had on their uniforms and brought their tools to work on a few projects at their Great-Grandparents house. On Wednesday, the sky fell out. I cannot describe how much rain we drive through. We met friends at Monkey Tree House which was a perfect rainy day plan. The boys had a blast. Thursday was Orientation at school and the boys woke up with something just off. They were so bad all day and I could not figure out what was going on but they were lucky to survive. I ran into my PE teacher from Middle School who also goes to my church now and she told me the barometric pressure was changing and it makes pets and kids go crazy. I am not sure if it is true but it did save the boys that day! The boys met their teachers and saw their classrooms. Both have great teachers and I am thrilled to see what all they learn this year. After school we went to our last swim lesson with Ms. Erin. They did so good and even started learning strokes. Will would flip to his back and float like a pro. They were doing great IF they were listening. I included their video below. Friday we had a crazy busy morning but it ended on a good note. We picked up Mimi and went to Lebanon to look at a house plan that we may possibly build and then dropped Mimi back off and then met Ezra and his parents at the pool all by 9:30AM! The boys had a blast at the pool and burned off plenty of energy. On Saturday we celebrated cousin Silas's 2nd birthday at Chuck E Cheese. This was Will's first time and Gaines's second time to go and they had a blast. We ended this week with church and the boys spent the afternoon at Nonni and Poppy's house.
Afternoon swim
The boys in their full uniform and tool boxes.
I overheard the boys playing and calling each other "Junior." I have got to get them around better influences than Uncle Rusty!

Gaines had talked Rusty into making a Peach Pie with the peaches they collected on their adventure and like a good Great - Uncle Rusty did the best he could and Gaines was FURIOUS that this pie did not come out looking like a pie. He kept telling us we were NOT listening to him and he was NOT leaving until this looked like a pie.

Garrick and I are the worse at eating veggies and fruits. I literally only like apples and green ones at that. I am attempting my hand at smoothies to try and get something good in my body. This is my Green Machine Boost even includes spinach and broccoli.

Nonni brought over her garage sale finds. Thanks Nonni for continuing to add stuff to my house. They boys worked together as a team on their new puzzle. They are actually getting pretty good doing these together.

I have bene working on Will writing his name and this is the first time he did it on his own!

Monkey Treehouse with our friends Hallee and Saylor. We also met Hayes and Charlie too!

Pool Play Date with Ezra

Happy 2nd Birthday Cousin Silas!
True Love is the only reason we would come to Chuck E Cheese on a SATURDAY!

I had Gaines and we played a few games until Gaines discovered the Xtreme Card machine. It took your picture and then gave you your very own personalized card. We now have every profession covered! He would stand there and look into the camera and you could see yourself and he would part his hair until it looked good and then smile.

All of Gaines's cards

Will's first Chuck E Cheese experience! He preferred balls and guns and did not want anywhere near the GIANT MOUSE.

Nonni brought over a box full of different games and Will has been concentrating on his domino set up. It amazes me his patience and attention span.

Really wanted to get this t-shirt for the boys! The pop hit and dance phenomenon Gangnam Style.

Sunday afternoon at Nonni's house. Gaines said they are clowns with top hats on. I love Will's face in this one!

Flashback Friday

One of my oldest friends Holly Reid Bailey gave birth to her third baby Benjamin last week. We met when we were 5 years old and she was my grandparents next door neighbor in Manchester, KY. She threw me a cookie monster chair over the fence and we sat and colored together. We have been friends and stayed in touch for 28 years! No matter how much time goes by we can just pick up right where we left off. She was cleaning out some old things this summer and she had sent me some of her finds and it made me think of how lucky I am to have met such wonderful girlfriends for moments, seasons, and a lifetime.

This my 4th grade picture she had in her Lisa Frank trapper Keeper.

Questions

Gaines asked me this week, why do they call a pair of underwear a pair?

Good question Gaines let me see if Google has an answer....

When I'm an Adult...

In the car today Gaines pipes in from the back and says:

G: Mom, when I'm an adult I know where I'm going to live.

Me: Where?

G: Not with a husband or a wife. You are going to be so excited when I tell you!

Me: Where?

G: With your friends Jessica, Melissa, Chris and their cute little baby girl. She is so cute!

Me: But Gaines I will miss you so much.

G: You can come visit.

Me: Well, Atlanta is too far.

G: Then I'll move to Knoxville and live with Aunt Stacie, she doesn't have a husband.

Me: Gaines, this makes me so sad. I don't want you to leave me.

G: You can visit me at Christmas.

Well, that was when the conversation ended. At least he is independent.

We were telling Daddy about this tonight and Will said, "I'm going to live here FOREVER!" Bless him!
