Pat-downs

We have started having daily pat downs before leaving the house. The boys stuff tons of random junk in their pockets! Pencils, coins, pirates gold, badges, note pads, walkie-talkies, bouncy balls, etc.

This was the load from today's laundry:

Brother Slumber Party

Will never wants to get out of Gaines's bed at night time. He just loves it! I'm not sure if it his Big Brother or just the Big Boy bed. Usually Gaines responds with "get out- this is my bed" but tonight he said, "Can Will stay with me? Pretty please - all night?" Will was just laying there do quietly with hope in his eyes to see how this played out and we decided to let them. It was so cute! It did help that they were exhausted but Gaines fell asleep instantly and Will tossed and turned a little bit but finally settled. I think they would have stayed all night but we moved Will around 10:30pm.

Mr. Independent

This morning as soon as Gaines got up he came downstairs to ask me a question.
Gaines: Mom, can I pick out my outfit and dress myself?

Me: Sure, but I do want to see what you picked out.

Gaines: I want the bright blue and white check shirt with pocket. Can I also wear my bow toe?

Me: Of course.

This is what he was wearing when I picked him from school today.

Bow tie Builders

Gaines and Will looked so cute today in their outfits Gaines picked out that I had to take pictures!

Gaines picked out their outfits and then he decided they were construction workers. The clothespin on his helmet is for his walkie-talkie to work. They were making up songs for their business.

Mimi and Gaines working on some clues.

This table I remember from when I was a little girl at Mimi's house - there are some things that should NOT stand the test of time.

What happens at Mimi's when you need a bag for all your goods that you have collected or found in their house - they each came home with a purse. Gaines's we can kind of call a satchel - Will's is a straight up purse. I found a brass bell in Gaines's bag.

Third Cousins

Debby and Don came to visit and we got to hang out a couple of times throughout the weekend. Debby is my mom's first cousin on the Brumley side. The boys had a blast playing and performing on Friday night and then we met for breakfast on Sunday. Of course they had found some toys for the boys at the garage sales on Saturday and Don was impressing them with his thumb trick.

Lindsay's Baby Shower

2013 has been full of celebrations! Lindsay, one of my oldest friends, my freshman suite-mate at UT, and Maid of Honor is having her first Baby. I am so excited to get to shower her and Baby Andrew! I had so much fun planning her shower because it gave me a great excuse to talk to some old friends from college and high school. I love these girls!
Theme: More of a color scheme

Food included a brunch theme since that was all that the Mom-to-Be could think that she had been craving including a yogurt bar.

Ashleigh made this and I thought it turned out so cute! A new take on the diaper cake.

All the guests filled these out for Baby Andrew.

We also had guests bring a book instead of a card for Baby Andrews library.

Lindsay looked beautiful as always

Linds, you are going to make a wonderful Mommy.

Hostesses: Ioana (sister-in-law), Brooke (MJ), Ashleigh (UT), Linds, Missy (MJ), Me, Rachel (MJ), and Emily (MJ)

Typical Lindsay expression! Wonder if Baby Andrew will have her big smile and I am really hoping he thinks I am as funny as his Mommy does.

Random Spring Tuesday

The boys woke up this morning fighting. It started with if this Blue Puppy belonged to Will or Gaines. This was the compromise that they could both touch it if they sat in the chair together. This was also the first really warm day that they could wear shorts and short sleeves. I thought they looked cute in their little polos. Nonni surprised us at school and then we headed to Mimi and Papa Jim's after school.

In Gaines's classroom. it was bring your favorite teddy bear to school day in his class.

Nonni and Will in his classroom.

Will takes a nap every day at school. I still don't know how they can sleep on these mats.

Who knows what Gaines is doing. I am sure he is digging for something.
