We signed the boys up for baseball class on Saturday mornings because we didn't think we were busy enough. Will had been so excited. Practicing throwing, running, and batting all in my living room. I ended up going to the walk-in clinic for this rash all over my hands and feet so Garrick took them to their first class solo. Gaines went with the 4 year olds and did great despite him telling us that he wasn't playing baseball. Will did not. Garrick took him over to his 3 year old class and he lost his marbles- full out fit. So he ended up sitting with Garrick the entire time. This better be a stage, he is missing out on activities that he loves not to mention that we paid for all because he is too scared or does not want to be separated. The only reason he gave us was he would do it if he was in Gaines's class. Well, too bad baby bro you are not going to always be with your big bro.

It's Potty Time!
So I woke up last Friday and decided I am potty training Will and we started. It has gone pretty well but whoever says it is so much easier when they are out of diapers lied. It is not "easier" for a good 6 months. This week has brought back all the wonderful memories of every time I left the house with Gaines worrying if he was going to have an accident or poop in his pants. Overall Will has done very well but the pooping business is exhausting. I hope this "situation" gets better quicker than Gaines's did. Will's reward is two skittles for #1 and anything he wants for #2!!! Last night at Offer Group, Will and I spent the majority of the time in the bathroom since he pooped in his pants twice. The joys of motherhood.

Summer Week 8
This week has been pretty low-key for us. We have not had a million things to do this week just fun stuff.
On Monday, we had a play date with our friends from school Cooper and Chloe. They managed to take out literally every toy in the house but I think they had a good time!
Tuesday was a busy morning! We went to story time at the Brentwood Library with Anna Clare and Hayes. The library was super nice and they boys seemed to have a good time and even paid attention most of the time. Craft time was interesting - Hayes and Will enjoyed taking the glue sticks in and out of the bucket most of all. Then we headed to Hayes's house and Will stayed there while I took Gaines to his 2nd My Gym class. He really loves this class.
Wednesday was quite the adventure that I will not repeat again. The movie theaters have free kids movies in the summer and I finally found one I thought was appropriate for my 3 year old (Will can watch whatever!). We headed off to Charlotte's Web and they were so excited! We got popcorn and got the perfect seats. They were in heaven for about 10 minutes. We switched seats, we got up and down, we ate all our snacks and popcorn. Gaines was perfectly content, Will on the other hand was not. He was all over the nasty floor, waving "bye" to me while he was heading down the steps while we were watching the movie. Finally about 30 minutes in I had had enough. I told Gaines we had to leave because Will was being bad and then Gaines lost it! I felt so bad for him, he was being so good and enjoying the movie. I told him that we would come back without Will which he proceeded to tell Will all the way home, "Will, you cannot come anymore to the movies."
Wednesday night I got to meet Eli Rhoton and see Courtney at the hospital. Court and I have been friends since 2nd grade and now she is a mother of 3 boys!!!
While I was gone Gaines was helping Daddy with Will. He has really gotten in to taking care of Will at night. He wants to sing him songs usually Jesus Loves Me and Old McDonald and telling him stories that he has made up. Tonight he was reading Will a book. It really is the sweetest!
Thursday we headed to the Clark Pool for PUMC Play group day. It was such a good morning. There were about 5 families there and the weather was great. Thank goodness for Halley Clark she played with Will literally for 2 hours! Thursday night we met Nonni for dinner at Cracker Barrel since Daddy was out of town.

Friday was an extra special day! Garrison Church invited Gaines to his 5 year old birthday at Chuck E Cheese. Gaines has never been before and was so excited especially after watching all the commercials for this place! I got a babysitter for Will and we headed off. Not before Gaines told Will a million times he could not go though. I thought Will was going to lose it when we left but he recovered pretty quickly. Gaines was sqealing and clapping the entire ride there. He had a ball! He looked so big sitting at the long table eating his pizza with the other kids. He really is growing up. Of course he wants his birthday there.
Friday night we headed over to Mimi and Papa's to have homemade ice cream and ride Gaines's brand new bike. We have a lot of practicing to do but he did pretty well for the first time. Will got to play some ball with Uncle Rusty and Papa Jim so he was happy!
Gaines so excited about his new bike!!! |

Geniuses at Play |
Love this. Gaines walked up to Papa Jim and was telling him something while hugging on him. |
Saturday we did nothing besides some errands. Pretty much laid around all day.
Mommy, let's take a picture. Daddy, get out the camera. Hmmm my training is finally paying off! |

Gaines's First Camp
Gladeville Baptist Church, where the boys go to school and where I grew up going to church, has a weeklong day camp in the summer and Gaines was old enough to participate. It was GREAT! 9am-3pm everyday and many of his teachers from school worked the camp. He was so excited! I read him the daily "THEMES" each day where he would be prepared.
Day 1: Farm Day |
It was too wet for the animals so they had train rides today at camp. Can you see Gaines in the yellow car? |
Day 2 - Olympic Day Never did really find out what he did this day! He looks cute though. His teachers said that Gaines always piped in to let them know what the themes were each day. |
Gainesy watching the movie |
Day 4- Pajama Day! Gaines was so excited about this day. They were going to watch a movie and have popcorn on the big screen in the Big Back Yard. |
Day 5 - Water Day Gaines said he did not play in the water because his Band-Aids would get wet. Today was a rough drop off not really sure why he was clinging to me. |

The Dentist and Mamaw's Picnic
This morning we went to visit the dentist. I scheduled our appointments for when Mamaw was in town where I would have some extra hands since this was Will's first trip and Gaines's second time. I really did not know how either one of them would act. We promised them a picnic at the park afterwards if they did a good job. It was only 103 degrees so this was a big treat!
Trying to get a grandmother picture in the waiting room |
Gaines did AWESOME! He sat in the big chair and he was very happy and excited and let her do a real cleaning. He is just such a big boy. He is growing up so quickly! |
After the dentist, we headed to Charlie Daniels Park for our picnic. It has become tradition when Mamaw is in town to picnic at the park. It was so hot but in the shade we actually enjoyed ourselves. Had a little food and played hide and go seek.
love this one! |
