Gaines's Office

Gaines's latest "phase" is playing office. At first he was Director of Emergency Services, then he asked me who was the boss of our city and in turn he wanted to be the Mayor, and now his business cards say Emergency Doctor. Every table in our house has his office supplies on it for one of his many desks and I am about to go crazy with all the pieces of paper everywhere! Our upstairs doors are all labeled with a different number where we know which office - Gaines is Office #1 of course. I blame all of this on his grandmother (of course). My mother says it is my fault since I am the child that asked for a hole puncher from Santa one year.

This is the office Nonni set up for Gaines at her house.

Counting his business cards.

"I can't go to bed yet, I have a few more notes to write."
Another funny story on this picture is it was way past Gaines's bedtime and he got up for the 500th time and I paused my show, Law & Order SVU and he asked me what type of show I was watching. I replied, "A show about criminals." Gaines says, "Is this Criminal Minds?" - WHAT?!?!? I promise I do not let my children watch all the blood and crime I watch. I finally figured out it was because I told him he looked like "Hotchner" off of Criminal Minds.

Office Work - this is one of two desks he has set up in his room plus an end table for more of his collectibles.

I HATE MILK!

Every single morning we start the day of with a fight over milk. Gaines decided a while ago that he doesn't like milk anymore and I just do not think it is acceptable to just decide you don't like something after drinking it for 3 years. The rule for a while has been you can not be excused from the table until you drink your milk and since Father Time would sit there for an hour in a half some mornings just enjoying his shows and taking his dear sweet time that rule had to be revisited. Now the rules is they cannot have TV until the milk is gone. It has helped a little bit but not much. It truly starts the day off on the wrong foot every morning. I know at some point I just need to give in but it is JUST ONE GLASS A MILK A DAY!!!! I apologize to my girlfriends that have to hear this conversation every morning when I am chatting with them during our breakfast time.

We did it! We did it! Without a fight this morning - HOORAY!!!!

Happy 49th Birthday Uncle Rusty!

We took Uncle Rusty to lunch and the Dollar Store to celebrate his 49th birthday. The boys were so excited and I think it made Russ's day as well. Nothing like spending your birthday visiting the top spots in Gladeville, TN - there are only 3 places period in Gladeville, TN!

Birthday Lunch at The Glade Cafe

Gaines found Transformer Rescue Bots Valentine's at The Dollar Store - he was so excited!
Will got Power Rangers.

Mimi called the other day and told Gaines the next time he came over he needed to pack a bag because they were going on a treasure hunt and when they found the treasure they could pick out two items each time they came over. She has ordered about $100 worth of stuff from oriental trade to add to the junk in my house. I mean seriously this is why I cannot find the floor in my house.

Look at Will's face. I think he may be clutching more than two items in his bag...

These two are two much! Will does not realize his Papa Jim is almost 80 when he is jumping on top of him and wrestling with him. He kept saying, "Papa Jim I wessle you."

Chalkboard Shower Celebrating Todd & Laing

It has been ages since I have hosted a baby shower or wedding shower and this Spring I will have 3! Tis the season to celebrate life changes!!! Garrick's friend since high school, Todd and his wife Laing are expecting their first little boy in March. Baby Brown will be the 8th boy out of 10 of Garrick's high school crew. The only girls in the group are the Novak Girls. We hosted a couples shower with the Novaks.

Todd & Laing

My new obsession. I saw this on a burp cloth and thought this was hysterical and was perfect for the Parents-to-Be. Garrick does not seem to think this is as hilarious as I do...

Look who joined us - The Gregorys!

Sports Fest Saturday

Garrick has been wanting to take the boys to Sports Fest and this year we finally got a chance too. We thought Will would LOVE IT but surprisingly Gaines did more than Will. Gaines participated at every booth and of course collected a bunch of stuff for his "office." I think the crowd and the mascots overwhelmed Will because he literally would not get out of our arms. Maybe next year!

Friends

The boys love to play with their friends Saylor (4.5), Hallee (2), Ms. Sheree, and Mr. Greg - Will always includes Mr. Greg when he is talking about them. These sisters are polar opposites like my boys as well and it is hysterical. These two pictures sum both of them.

Hockey Fever!

Nonni got us tickets to the Nashville Predators Fan Night for season ticket and suite holders. This was perfect. Ever since Garrick took them to seethe Preds practice, Will has not stopped playing hockey in our living room. Even Gaines will get into it every once in a while.

Will looks quite at home in the penalty box.

They were all so close!

One of the players handed Gaines his puck from the rink

So proud!
Will got a little scared after one of the players slammed against the ice right where he was standing so he is now viewing from his Daddy's lap. Sometimes he is so tough and then others he is just a little 2 year old!

Hysterical, Garrick got interviewed and he was absolutely dying of embarassment. I wish it would have been a tv station, I would have streamed that clip everywhere!!!

Gaines got another puck! He gave it to Will.
This is how it starts.
Hey guys, let me get a picture of you all with your pucks.
Will, look at Mommy.
Will saying something to Gaines
Then screaming.

After practice the players were playing air hockey and foosball with the fans.
Gaines got to play. Will did not want too play.

Thank you!
Gaines cheesing with Fang. Will fleeing for our arms.
Worth the entire night for this picture!
Love these crazy boys!

We saw Gaines and Will in what looked like a bear hug in the middle of the living room floor. Come to find out they were "fighting" during their hockey game and had to be sent to the penalty box. All along I thought they were just excited to see each other=).
