Flash back Friday

The past 3 years of beach vacations. They are growing so fast.

Day 9 - Vacation

We have been gone so long and it has been so wonderful!!! Truly a great vacation and even relaxing with the kids and the ole' grandparents. I went and walked this morning 2 out of 10 days not bad right=)? I just love this place. I stopped at the donut truck and got the boys t-shirts. Nothing like walking/running to the donut shop (I promise I did not buy one!). Our last day on the beach, we did some major shell collecting. Gaines wanted to take a walk down the beach so the four of us headed off. Will and I lagged behind and caught a few more little fish and some great shells. Nonni and Poppy were just REEE-LAXING today. They must think they are on vacation or something. Garrick and I went to George's in Alys Beach for lunch and it was so good! The Grouper sandwich was amazing. We headed out to Rosemary after naps and Gaines shopped for his treat and we took Will and just shopped around. This was really the first time all week we even brought the kids down to the Square. Will got to play football in the grassy area while we waited for pizza from Cowgirl Kitchen. We started packing up when we got home. I think we were all ready by this point. We never did rent bikes or play cards but I don't think we missed out on anything! Tomorrow we head home after one last stop at the Donut Truck. When we get home I am calling to see if we can reserve for next year!

Day 8 - Vacation

This morning the boys actually enjoyed the beach again. I know they would rather be at the pool but I would rather be at the beach! Will caught not only his first fish but the first one any of us were able to catch. The boys had their nets trying to catch one and he just kept catching them and was so proud. Gaines tried once and moved on to the next thing. Nonni and Gaines worked on their sand creatures: an elephant and octopus. Garrick searched for shells to stink up my house. His childhood memories of searching for shells took over and every time I looked up he was in the ocean searching for the perfect shell. Will has struggled with pooping all week. Now it is to the point where it hurts so bad, he will not let it come out so we finally decided to get an enema. So at naptime, I drove all over 30A trying to find one. I have had to do this before a few months ago and it is terrible but what I learned is sometimes it is just better to do it by yorself. Nonni has been yapping all week about giving him one and now that it is time and he is screaming like the exorcist, Garrick is basically crying while "helping" and Nonni is questioning if we should be doing this and I am about to kill all of them! It worked and he finally went and we started back on the miralax so hopefully that will help him. Nonni and Poppy took him to get a treat for his pain after naptime. Tonight we had our favorite vacation dinner - Shrimp Night! Our plan was to take the boys to Rosemary for their Movie in the Park and the boys were so excited. We had our popcorn packed and blanket and headed that way when it started thundering and lightning so through the meltdown the boys had we convinced them to watch on iPad and we would have our own movie night. This was a big deal because I only let the boys watch G movies and this one is PG. Well, Will could not contain his excitement so much as soon as it started he yelled out, "STUPID!" How do they know this stuff? He kept looking at me to see if I was going to turn it off or not.

Is this how normal people start off their morning on vacation - wrestling with their 3 year old grandson?
This is a prime example why Will is mean as a snake!
Good Morning! Another beautiful day!

I made Gaines take a picture with his Mommy since he has has only wanted his NonNon for 8 days now!
Will went with Nonni and Poppy to get a treat for finally pooping and for surviving his vacation enema.
Swimming and Jumping after nap time

What's for dinner

Watching Madagascar 2 - they thought they were big stuff since it was PG. Only on vacation and in desperate times!

Having our own movie night since the one in the Square was rained out.

Day 7 - Vacation

I really didn't take a lot of pictures today and cannot really remember too much that we did. So this will be some random pics and thoughts for the week. The boys every day for nap wanted to put on their pajamas and Will wore the same robot pajamas everyday. Garrick and I did go out to eat while Nonni and Poppy watched the boys.

Our View

Nonni: "Wonder where they are going? Why do they make a v shape?"
Christy: "Who Cares?"
Nonni: "I do, my boys may need to know this one day."
I am sure this is an appropriate "Inside" game.

This is what happens when the Grandparents are in charge - booty dancing and ole' chicken head busting a move.

Date Night at Caliza in Alys Beach
The food was amazing. Nonni would have loved the crab cakes - sorry Non! This is a new take on Keylime Pie.

Going swimming while Mommy and Daddy are out on the town.

Love Will's walk

Fitting for quite a few people I know.
Shopping in Rosemary - texted this to my Zumba gals

Day 6 - Vacation

Well, today was eventful to say the least. No one was really in a hurry this morning to get out to the beach. We started off the morning with a few games, breakfast, and a few cups of coffee. We started out at the beach but we really did not last long this morning. We ended up with two injuries. Garrick ripped off his toenail playing football with Will and then later on at the pool, Will fell and busted his nose against the side of the pool. I continued to beat Nonni and Garrick in Word Search (only losing once to Nonni). We went to Seaside for dinner to enjoy the "roach coaches" as my father calls the food trucks. He really needs to get with the trend and realize Food Trucks are "in." I would have given a million dollars for him or Nonni to have had some sort of bug in their food! I am laughing typing this! Seaside was not exactly what we were hoping for and everyone was hot and tired so we headed back to our condo to do family beach pictures. Everyone's favorite part of vacation. It is like having 5 kids and Cruella Devil coordinating. It is the most pleasant experience but we got a couple of cute ones and then bribed the boys with night swimming to end the day.

Starting the morning off with a little game of Go Fish. Will wants to play but ends up throwing all his cards across the table. No one was really in a hurry to get down to the beach this morning.
Daddy and Will playing football. The first injury of the day and vacation. Garrick fell in the sand and ripped part of his toenail off. He was in so much pain. Mom had all kinds of advice for him.
Love these boys
Will tripped on the side of the pool and smashed his nose. There was so much blood! We had no idea if it was broken or what. Thank goodness for Google calming us down and it said even if it was broken, the swelling had to go down before we could do anything about it.

Enjoying quiet time at the beach while boys napped.
Ready to go to Seaside for dinner.

I asked the boys if they wanted to eat at the food trucks or pack them a dinner. Gaines wanted his packed and Will wanted a grill cheese.
He still was not feeling great from his nose incident but he loved his dinner!

Nonni wanted to remember her hot dog. "That was the nastiest hot dog. It had too much skin." Dad, "Well, it's better than the $3 bag of chips."

Poppy and Will finding a spot.
Sweet boys. Gaines has to wear all his buttons buttoned on his shirts. It is part of his style!
This is not starting the photo shoot off in the right direction. No one was listening at all!

Supposed to be putting their arms around each other, starts out hugging and then Will wanting to throw Gaines into the sand...
The best family shot we got. Maybe a framer next year!
