Sandestin Day 2

This is our first official FULL day of vacation. The weather is absolutely perfect. it is overcast and not too hot with a breeze = heaven! We got up and had breakfast at the hotel and came on out to the beach. Garrick with all of his research he does found out that there is a contest going on at the Hilton that each week a guest submits a picture with this Hilton Turtle mascot and whoever wins the photo contest will be entered to win a weekend getaway at the end of the summer so we immediately started "snapping" to get the winning pic. I made the boys take pics before they could play, what an evil mother! They were so excited to be at the beach.

Do you not just love their white sun hats?!?! I know that I can only get away with these "bonnets" for maybe one more year but I think they are precious and even Garrick approved for this year!

We still had red flags out today so we couldnt get in the water but we still were able ot get our toes wet! Gaines and Nonni splashed and squealed for a while and we gathered water for our sand castle. Nonni and Poppy are great to vacation with because they truly cannot sit still. Garrick and I could sit in our chairs the entire day with our book or magazine in hand and not move, not Nonni and Poppy! They were constantly in motion.

Mommy and Nonni's Boys

Nonni tried to build a sand turtle for the photo contest. Turned out pretty good but not great in pictures.

Our beach Lunch

Garrick stayed in and worked while the boys napped and I got to go to the beach and read my book and enjoy this pina colada! Now that is vacation to me!!!
We decided to stay in for dinner tonight and Nonni and Poppy had us over to their condo for Shrimp. It was yummy and much more relaxing than taking the boys out to eat. The boys would not let up on Poppy.

Garrick had read about fireworks at the hotel and that is what we used to get the boys to leave their grandparents place. Needless to say, we are driving back to the hotel and we see fireworks going off early and we missed them. Meltdowns were coming so we ended up watching a reception going on poolside and ordering ice cream from room service. They thought they were big stuff!
